Ideologies

Basic S.C.A.Y. Ideologies

  • Do no harm.
  • Do unto others as you would have done unto you in any situation. Pretend your roles are reversed.
  • Do good deeds not because you have to, but because you can.
  • Do what you can, when you can, because you can. Feel fortunate you can.
  • Care positively about others.
  • Be the change you want to see.
  • Trust in others BUT, be safe, be aware, be alert, be careful, be cautious, be kind, be cordial and be courteous towards yourself, those you are with, and those you are trying to help as you are doing a good deed.
  • Be respectful.  Not everyone wants whatever you are offering at the moment in time you are offering it to them.  If they say no, respect it and accept it.
You are not there to change someone who does not agree, uncoerced, to the assistance offered by you, or if they do not ask for assistance from you.  You are there to provide the assistance you can provide you feel will benefit someone(s) at that moment in time and offer it as an option to that someone(s) you feel may have a need for it.  Do not force anything on anyone who does not uncoerced and willingly want to accept it. There may be someone else down the road who can use it appreciatively, happily, and willingly.
  • Uncertain what someone may need: ask them.  If you want to ensure you are providing something(s) an individual or group can use and want to use, ask them. After they tell you, you can decide if you can assist immediately, may have to come back another time, or can’t assist with the request.  This will provide specific need(s) you can tailor and provide that may have been previously unknown.
